About Us

     We are Maine Veteran Woodturners, we came into existence from a dream of a VA peer counselor who identified a need for a group whereby Veterans could gain assistance through the art of woodworking, specifically pen making. He wanted to do more to help Veterans in need of a purpose, redirection, and camaraderie.

     Envisioning a group that was independent, but would be positioned to receive member referrals from the VA. To give Veterans support in reintegrating into society, give them something to do with their hands and minds in an atmosphere where they can be productive and purposeful.

     We measure our successes NOT by sales volume or our bank balance. Our success is measured by the number of well adjusted veterans that have been helped to reintegrate into society, by helping one veteran at a time find purpose in a nurturing real setting.

     We attend craft fairs where we sell our hand made products. Their arts and crafts will be sold and all monies received are returned to the organization to enable further financial support for more veterans to learn, train and produce more crafts. Any donations received will be put to that use as well.

     We guest speak at Veteran organizations, community groups, and civic organizations.

     As Veterans of the United States Military, having served our

country, we share a common bond. We place our trust in each other and we work for the common good.
